Biography
When
the Stephen O’Donnells arrived in Hong Kong with the U. S. Department
of State in April 1984, they definitely knew they were in the will of
God. Even as Bible college students in Portland, Oregon, they both
desired to work among Chinese-speaking people. While employed by the
diplomatic service, they assisted Missionaries Robert Forbush and Jerry
Holt as self-supported AIM workers.
However, the U. S.
government was planning to reassign Brother O’Donnell to another
location. Consequently, he quit his secular job upon receiving his
missionary appointment in 1987, so that they might devote themselves
full-time to the work of God. They were on location when Britain
transferred control of Hong Kong to China. Along with the national
pastors, the O’Donnells offer hope in Christ to those who face an
uncertain future.
