Biography
Henry and Sharon Ritchie were appointed as missionaries to the Windward Islands in 1977. At that time the apostolic message was virtually unknown in these islands. The United Pentecostal Church
had never had a work of any kind in the area. The Ritchies met with a
lot of opposition upon their arrival. However, the Lord opened doors
according to His will, and before the end of the first term churches had already been planted on each of the seven major islands. Subsequent terms highlighted Bible school work and intensive teaching and training of nationals as well as literature development. In 1987 their field of labor was expanded to include the South American nation of French Guiana. The work was initially opened in this country in 1991 and is also a part of their work and labor.
