Biography
Brother
and Sister Jerry Sawyer were pastoring the First United Pentecostal
Church of Baldwyn, Mississippi, when they received their appointment as
UPCI missionaries to Honduras in October 1989. Prior to his
appointment, Brother Sawyer also served as a sectional home missions
director for the Mississippi District.
While in Honduras Brother Sawyer oversaw the work in the absence of the president and served as
vice-president and administrator of the Bible school. He and Sister
Sawyer also pioneered a new work on the offshore islands of Honduras
where the populace speaks English.
In
May 1997 the Foreign Missions Board changed Brother
Sawyer's appointment to Belize. The Sawyers relocated to Belize City
following their 1997-98 furlough. Brother Sawyer is now the field
