What is a Missionary Evangelist?
There is such a
great harvest today so that many missionaries are needing help in the
in-gathering of souls in their field of labor.
“And they
beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they
should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so
that they began to sink.” (Luke 5:6-7).
Some Missionary
Evangelists work in a specific region Others internationally in a
specific capacity of ministry Each have several years of experience of
ministry on the mission field as fully appointed Missionaries. All work
along side of the missionary in each country helping him in the area of
need for his field.
Evangelism Training
We
are called to help the missionary on site train the national brethren
in evangelism and follow-up. We use the Home Bible Study concept for
this. We also help coordinate crusades and other evangelistic thrusts
in conjunction with this training.
Sunday School
Sis.
Showalter has developed a National Sunday School Department in both of
the countries where we have labored as full time missionaries. This
involves training of pastors as well as teachers. There is a great need
for children's ministries overseas where in most countries more than
half the population are children and adolescents .
Global Campus Ministry
Campus
ministry is a wide open field overseas. In September of 2001 he was
appointed as the International Coordinator of Friendship International
the Campus ministry of the foreign missions department. We have labored
since the beginning of our ministry in campus ministry. We are helping
the missionary open this avenue of ministry in his field. There are
exciting results happening in every region of the world, in this area
of ministry.
Worth the Wait Seminars
We
are helping youth in many nations, understand that sexual abstinence
until marriage is God's way and the best way, spiritually, mentally and
physically. We teach the seminar in 2 languages, Spanish and English.
