Biography
Flint, Michigan’s
Mark and Robin Shutes received their appointment as UPCI missionaries to Belarus
in September 1996. Prior to their
appointment, they had served for three years as associates in missions in Belarus. During that time they worked in the Accelerated
Christian Schools,
taught home Bible studies, headed the coffee house ministry, pastored the
church in Mugilev and served as the furlough replacement for the senior
missionary for three months. As a
result, they conducted over 100 home Bible studies and saw over 50 people
filled with the Holy Ghost.
Brother and Sister Shutes completed deputation in late 1998
and arrived on the field in January 1999.
He assumed the leadership of the Belarusian church when the Nicholls’s departed. He pastors in Minsk
and organized a training program to reach the six provinces.
