Tremayne went to Africa
with his parents in 1979. As a teenager in
Tanzania, he adopted
Africa as his second home. Tremayne loves the
outdoors. He enjoys golfing, basketball, hunting
but most of all fishing! When he met Vicki, he told
her to “Stick with me, Babe, and you’ll go places”.
He loves to tell people that she has stuck with him
and they have definitely gone places.
Two days after his graduation from Texas Bible
College in 1987, Tremayne
and Vicki left for their first missions assignment.
They spent four and a half years working in
Germany. From Germany, they went to Botswana, Africa and then on to
Zimbabwe. Tremayne’s passion in
ministry is mentoring young leaders and ministers.
He feels that time spent in training is time well
spent.
Tremayne is very much a family man and any time
spent with his children - Micah, Chelsea, Lauren and
Timothy - is quality time. Whether it is a round of
golf with the boys or a day on the water, the time
invested in his children is what really matters. A
family tradition is when he takes the children on
their all day Christmas shopping trip - always
without Vicki!
Vicki is very
passionate about being a mother. She loves her
three children and daughter-in-law with all her
heart. She also loves to sew, scrapbook, read, and
make cards. Cooking is something that she claims to
be good at. To Vicki, cooking is an
art. She is glad
that her mother passed on the love for this ‘art’ to
her.
Vicki and Tremayne met and married while they were
both attending Texas Bible College. Their travels have taken
them across Europe and to 12 different countries in
Africa. While serving as UPCI appointed
missionaries to Zimbabwe, Vicki
also serves on the Reaching Africa’s Children
committee. Her burden for children is not only
limited to the African child but also for the
children of missionaries. She was able to
coordinate the first ever missionary kid (MK)
retreat outside of North
America. During their current
deputational travels,
Vicki has been asked to speak at several children’s
ministry seminars and special children’s services.
